Who We Are
Blogwhen Remodeling is a referral service for homeowners planning a kitchen or bathroom remodel. That is all we do. We do not build, demolish, tile or install anything. The work is done by independent providers in our network.
Why This Exists
Remodeling can feel like a maze. Who do you call? What should it cost? Is the first quote fair? Many homeowners just want someone steady to point the way. So we built a simple first step. You describe the project, and we help you reach a provider who handles that kind of work.
How Matching Works
You share the basics: which room, what you want changed, and roughly when. We look at what you need and your location. Then we point you to a provider in our network who may be a good fit.
Some projects are bathing-area work, like turning a tub into a walk-in shower or adding a walk-in tub. Others are full kitchen updates. Different providers suit different jobs, and matching is meant to respect that.
What We Expect From Providers
We ask providers in our network to be clear and respectful with homeowners. In practice, that means:
- Explaining the scope of work in plain words
- Giving a written quote before work starts
- Holding any licenses or permits their area requires
- Answering questions without pressure
You should always confirm licensing and insurance directly with the provider. Do not rely on us for that.
What We Do Not Do
We do not do the work. We do not set provider prices or schedules. We do not promise a result, and we do not make decisions for you. We also do not push. Timing shapes everything in a remodel, but a calm choice is almost always a better one than a rushed one.
How We Are Paid
Homeowners are not charged to request a referral. Providers in our network may pay for the connections we send them. That is how the service runs. It does not change what you pay a provider for the actual work, and you are welcome to compare quotes.
Why Planning Early Helps
In the Gaithersburg area, humid summers and freeze-thaw winters wear on bathrooms and kitchens. Small leaks can sit behind tile or cabinets for months. Talking to a provider before a problem grows gives you more choices and less stress. Then keep it good: ask the provider about sealing, ventilation and simple upkeep once the job is done.
Get Connected
When you are ready, tell us about your project. There is no obligation, and you decide what happens next.
